This collection consists of a photocopy of the manuscript of Steve Mierzejewski titled "Footprints on the Rivers" which is "an account of the greatest storms, the deepest snows, the coldest winters, the highest floods, etc., and their effects of the settlers of the Pacific Northwest." In 2000, Washington State Library (WSL) paid to have a copy made of the original manuscript which is at the Oregon Historical Society. It is believed that these are the only two copies of this manuscript. Mierzejewski's manuscript is cited in the bibliography of "Rains all the time, a connoisseur's history of weather in the Pacific Northwest" by David Laskin.
